Domaine Roche Cairanne Côtes-du-Rhône-Villages 2011
90 points Wine Spectator

Delivers a plush feel, with plum and raspberry fruit, layered with hoisin sauce, red licorice, and black tea notes. The long, suave finish shows buried grip. ~ Wine Spectator

An up and coming talent in the village of Cairanne, young Romain Roche is a vigneron to watch! With the help of super star consultant Philippe Cambie, he is fashioning incredible wines. His 2011 Cairanne is a prime example: a blend of 70% Grenache and 20% Syrah that’s aged 80% in tank, and 20% in barrique, it delivers a brilliant bouquet of black raspberries, licorice, white chocolate, and lead pencil shavings to go with a medium to full-bodied, decadently styled palate. More fresh and elegant than you would expect given the ripeness and intensity on the nose, it never seems heavy or cumbersome and has solid length on the finish. Impressive all around. ~ Rhone Report

Thanksgiving Sparkling Rosé
$14.75 if pre-ordered online (regularly $17.50)
Villa Wolf Pinot Noir Rosé 2013

The Pfalz is a very warm and sunny region, often called the “Tuscany of Germany" where pinot noir thirves.Light and refreshing with deliciously bright berry and fruit flavors and a clean, zippy finish, it’s perfect for holiday meals, especially when ham is involved. But this sparkling sip is also the ideal pour for the busy cook in the kitchen and the crowd gathering over a cheese and charcuterie platter.

Founded in 1756, the J.L. Wolf estate (now called Villa Wolf) was a successful and highly regarded winery for more than two centuries. In the latter years of the 20th Century, however, the estate languished until Ernst Loosen, of the famed Dr. Loosen estate, took over the vineyards and rehabilitated the exceptional vines. Today the vineyards are tended by a talented and dedicated young couple who met while working at Dr. Loosen. Patrick Moellendorf and Sumi Gebauer have brought renewed energy and focus to the viticulture and winemaking at Villa Wolf.
