Labor Day Libations: Work that elbow!

Toast the toilers with newly released seasonal beers and new wines from the Goose's cellar. Here are a few of the bottles we're looking forward to emptying this weekend...
Oktoberfests are out! The party started in 1810 when Prince Ludwig got hitched. Ever since, autumnal Munich puts on a party like no other. And even though it doesn't quite feel like fall yet (Saturday 94, Monday 74, what?!), brewers near and far are releasing their tributes to the beer style that's celebrated each fall. Oktoberfests and Marzens and More now at the Goose!

Bubbles, roses, reds and whites: Labor Day goes with all colors. Among the old favorites and the new bottles in the Goose's cellar, we're especially looking forward to popping these corks this weekend...

Casteller Cava: Traditional methode champenoise puts tiny bubbles into Macabeu, Parellada, and Xarello for a dry sparkler spiked with green apple and lime. How many glass of Casteller do you think these guys had before they made their casteller?

Cortijo Tinto 2010: Winemaker Martin Saenz pulls red currant and white pepper from 100% tempranillo for a Rioja that over delivers for the price.

Pares Balta Mas Petit 2008: The family ownered winery blends Cabernet Sauvignon and Garnatxa for an organic wine from the Penedes rip with roasted fruit flavors. It makes a meal out of tapas from the Goose's cheese & charcuterie case or stands up to steaks fresh off the grill.
